Somatic Therapy

A body-aware approach to noticing emotions, stress responses, and the connection between physical sensations and emotional experiences.

At Lively Mind and Wellness, somatic-informed therapy may help eligible adults build awareness of body cues and explore grounding and self-regulation skills as part of an individualized mental wellness plan. The approach is collaborative and paced to your comfort, goals, and clinical needs.

WHAT TO EXPECT

Build awareness at your own pace

Sessions may include guided attention to present-moment sensations, grounding practices, gentle breathing or movement-based awareness, and reflection on patterns connected with stress and emotion. Activities are adapted to the individual; no particular exercise is required.

POSSIBLE AREAS OF FOCUS

Support for mind-body awareness

Depending on your goals and assessment, somatic-informed work may be incorporated to support:

  • Recognizing physical signs of stress and emotion
  • Practicing grounding and present-moment awareness
  • Developing coping and self-regulation skills
  • Exploring mind-body patterns alongside other appropriate care

PERSONALIZED CARE

Is somatic therapy right for you?

Suitability depends on your concerns, preferences, clinical assessment, and treatment goals. Somatic-informed approaches are not a substitute for emergency care and are not guaranteed to produce a particular result. Your provider can discuss options and whether this approach fits into your care plan.
